Simple Yet Elegant Wedding Invitation

origami heart wedding invitations

My fiancee is American and I am Chinese so we wanted to combine both cultures into our wedding planning. Our wedding color is Red, which is traditional Chinese color for a wedding.

Here is how I made my wedding invitation:

I used metallic cardstock weight paper for both cover and inside layer. This kind of paper has an elegant shimmering glimmer.

The cover is crimson red and inside layer is pearl white color. The inside layer looks like it is professionaly made.

As you can see from my photo, the origami heart in the middle of the cover is made by me using Chinese money 50 cents because it has purple/reddish look so it matches the cover.

I also designed a matching RSVP card that has Chinese double happiness symbol on it.
