Pirate Wedding Invitation

Pirate bottle invitations
We decided we wanted a non-tradition wedding and then set out to do a pirate wedding theme.
We used 24# parchment-like paper; each page was 5.5 x 8.5 in size. We found a pirate glossary online and changed out many of the traditional words for pirate lingo using a script font. We used a watermark that depicted a treasure map in the background.
After printing out the invitations, RSVPs, and maps to the chapel and reception site, we used a heat gun normally used to peel paint off walls to singe the edges of the invitations. We then rolled the invitations from the bottom up using a #2 pencil as a guide.
We then tied the invitations with a thin jute twine and dropped then into plastic bottles, corked the bottle, and cut the twine so that it stuck out of the bottle slightly. Using a glue gun and gold-colored glue, we added a bead of glue around the cork and bottle neck to resemble wax.
The mailing labels had a "jolly roger", pirate flag with skull and crossed swords, on it beside the return address.
