Using paper punches

Using paper punch is another good way to create embellishments and decorations for your handmade cards and invitations.

large flower punch * Use them to create embellishments. You can combine one shape with another to create a whole new form. Use this flower punch paired with maybe a small star and circle punch. Add them one on top of the other to the middle of the flower and you have a pre-made embellishment. Use different textured and colored paper to mae the embellishment really pop. Or even add some beads, glitter or sequins!

heart shape *You can even use a heart punch in combination with a small circle punch to create small violet or pansy style flowers.

* Punch shapes out of the card itself for another color or pattern to show through from the inside. If you punch a shape out of the front of the card but have a patterned paper attached to the inside of the card it will create a decoration. You could even attach a small picture to the inside. A picture of you or your family members could be smiling through to the front of the card

The decorative punches I like best and that I use the most are made by EK success. They have a great selection of shapes and sizes and are very durable. A good place to find these and many other scrapbooking and card making supplies visit the Scrapbooksupercenter.com. They have an awesome selection of arts and crafts supplies and their prices are low to boot.
