Homemade Monkey Baby Shower Invitation
I made these invites for a friends baby shower. She was having a boy and decorating her entire nursery in a monkey them, so the monkey baby shower was fitting! She LOVED it!! AND I got a lot of compliments from the guests.
Materials and Supplies I used:
Green cardstock
white or cream colored cardstock
monkey and invitation stamps
rubber stamp ink
distressing ink
button (or other embellishments)
To make these baby shower invites I used a monkey stamp, buttons, an invitation wording stamp, and cardstock!
First off, this picture does not do this justice!
Start by simply cutting and folding your cardstock. I used 8 1/2" by 11" green cardstock and cut it in half the long way.
Apply your rubber stamp "you are invited" info to a separate paper (or the cardstock if you choose to use a light color - I like the contrast) and trim to fit inside of the card. YOu could also use your computer printer, but I like the look of the hand stamped letters and wording.
Stamp your monkey images to another sheet and trim that as well. You can also choose to shade in the monkey images as done in the picture above. Use markers, or colored pencils. I like to use flocking at times as well, applied using a glue pen.
Buttons were attached with adhesive to add some texture and interest. You could also use die cut or paper punched leaves, bananas, or any other embellishment to stand out on the paper.
