Calla Lily Wedding Invitation

Materials needed to make a calla lily wedding invitation:

Start by creating a 2-up (or two invitations to a page) text layout for printing onto your decorative invitation paper. You could even simply order a printable text layout from our site to fit your specific invitation design. Print the text onto you calla lily wedding invitation paper. You can find this paper at many arts and crafts supply stores. I have even seen it sold as stationery in a pad. Preferably you'll find the kind that is 8 1/2" by 11". If not then simply cut the paper down to about 5" by 7" and print straight onto the cut pieces.

Next you'll cut your papers down to size. First cut your 8 1/2" by 11" card stock in half to make two pieces measuring 8 1/2" by 5 1/2".

Next cut the calla lily paper down to size. Start by cutting the paper in half, again, creating two pieces measuring 8 1/2" by 5 1/2" with the text centered in the middle. Next you will need to trim down the edges. Trim about a half inch from each side of the paper on the left and right. Trim a 1/4" of an inch from the top and bottom.

Use a glue runner or other adhesive to apply some glue to the back of the calla lily wedding invitation paper. Adhere the paper to the card stock centering it to the right side of the card. Now place a line of glue vertically down the left side of the paper over the seam where the two papers meet. Lay a piece of ribbon down here to adhere it flat against the card. Trim the edges off with an Xacto knife or some sharp scissors. Done!

Making these invitations in bulk? Here's an easy and fast alternative...

Even if you have to make this calla lily wedding invitation by the hundreds you can still do it fairly easily and keep your sanity. What's the secret? Bring all your materials to a copy or print shop. Most of these shops have a hydraulic paper cutter in house where you can get all of your papers cut to size in one fell swoop. Not to mention that they carry an array of different colored card stock as well. You can bring your text template to be copied onto your decorative paper, where they can copy and cut all of the papers, even trim them to the exact size, and off you go to simply assemble them at home. Now all you need is a few girlfriends and a bottle of wine to have a little wedding invitation assembly party. Good luck!
