Beach Destination Save-the-Dates

by Anna
(Chicago, IL)

These save-the-date cards are 5x7" and can be inserted into any A7 envelope. My fiance & I thought it would be great to send our guests a little gift for their trip to come celebrate our wedding.

Supplies:
- flip flop luggage tags (can be found online or Michael's)
- 8.5 X 11" sand colored cardstock
- matching A7 envelopes
- 8.5 X 11" light blue vellum paper
- 1.5" wide, wired ribbon
- 2 eyelets per card
- double-sided tape
Optional:
- fish design ribbon
- ocean-themed rubber stamps & chalk ink
- wavy edging scissors

1. Luggage Tags: Used laser printer to put wedding information on gold pieces of paper & inserted into each luggage tag.
2. Vellum Paper:
a) Printed additional information on blue vellum paper. (Please note that vellum can only be printed with laser or inkjet printers on economy mode) For each 8.5X11 sheet, you can get 2 cards per sheet. Let dry.
b) Cut into 4.5X6.5" with scissors.
c) Optional: Stamp fish & bubble shapes onto the back of each vellum piece. Let dry, as ink can smear otherwise.
3. Cardstock: Cut into 5x7" rectangles
4. Ribbon:
a) Cut into 7" strips. (I adhered, with double-sided tape, the fish ribbon on top of the wide ribbon as added decoration)
b) Weave the ribbon under the thong piece of the flip flop tag & center tag along ribbon strip.
5. Assemble:
a) Center vellum piece on cardstock
b) Align ribbon with luggage tag across cardstock and wrap around.
c) Adhere ribbon with tape on the back side of card.
d) Punch 1/8" eyelet holes (through the vellum & cardstock) in the center on the top & bottom. Place eyelets into holes & set with eyelet setter & hammer.
e) In order to hide the ribbon on the back side of card, I affixed another piece of 5x7" cardstock to back using double-sided tape. (Optional)

The End :)
