Make Baseball Birthday InvitationsThese baseball birthday invitations were created for a baseball theme party. The guest of honor was a little league player who invited his whole team and had a great baseball theme birthday party! This kind of invite would be appropriate for either an older child's theme party but could even be for a baby or toddler party for a boy, especially if his dad happens to be a sports fan. To make birthday invitations like these is relatively simple but also a great activity to get your kids involved. Your little baseball fan will love to help in creating these for his very own party, AND they will be one of a kind! Switch up the decorative paper for say, a Bob the Builder paper and you have a character theme invitation instead! A perfect tutorial for any theme party!

Step One: Printing the words onto the invitation. Start by using a
desktop publishing software
to help lay out the text for your card. Set the format of the card as a
2-up lay-out
(or two cards to a page). This will save a bit of time and money. You will need to set up the text for both the front and inside of the card. Print them back to back onto a cardstock of your choice. If you need help in figuring which direction to place the paper to get it properly aligned onto the card make sure and draw an arrow on the front of the page pointing in the direction in which you placed the paper into the printer. This way you will know which direction to put the paper in when printing the opposite side. Make sure and draw it in pencil so you can easily erase it.
You could go one step further in making the creation of these invites easier on you by downloading the text file I have already created. Download the kids birthday invitations text.
Step Two:Paper cutting. If you are going to use a 2-up layout it is inevitable that you will need to have your papers cut in half. If you have a good
personal paper cutter you can cut them yourself. Otherwise I recommend bringing them to a small print shop or copy shop to have them cut for you. (If you are already planning on having them copied for you then the copy shop is a one stop solution.) This is especially helpful if you are making a large volume of invitations. It is inexpensive, easier than cutting them all yourself, and you will get a perfectly measured clean cut every time.
Step Three: Star paper punches. Simple! Just punch out ALOT of star shapes out of whatever color paper you would like. I chose yellow because it stood out against the decorative paper I chose. You will punch out five per card so just do the math. Step Four: Assembling the baseball birthday invitations. Attatch all of these pieces using a glue runner or light scrapbooking glue. Glue dots are good too, but not as easy to work with. A thicker glue like elmer's will warp and wrinkle the card. It will look messy. Attatch the decorative paper rectangles aligned to the left of the card. Next attatch the paper punch star embellishments to the seam of where the decorative paper meets the cardstock. Make sure and space them out evenly.
