Baby Sling Carriers

These baby sling carriers are awesome! They are a great alternative to the backpack (or frontpack) style of baby carrier. The big difference is that when a mother carries her baby in a sling the baby feels close and secure. For small infants it is much like being back in the womb. Some have even suggested carrying a baby in a sling to help sooth a colicky baby. What could be a better baby shower gift than one of these versatile and easy to use slings?

* Baby Sling Carriers are great for breastfeeding! This is the main reason I bought mine. I knew I wanted a sling far before my baby was born so I went searching for one as soon as I could. I mostly wanted one so that I could carry my baby close to me. When you put your infant in one of these carriers it is almost like your cuddling them the whole time you carry them. Anyway, I found mine at the Boston Baby Expo. When I spotted the booth that they were selling them at I marched straight for it. I asked to try one of them on and I was sold. They showed me how to use it. I placed my baby girl in the sling and was able to immediately start breast feeding her. I paid for it and walked away feeding her. Because of the design of the sling you couldn't even tell that I was feeding her. So discreet!

* Slings are a great comfort for a baby. When you carry a baby in a sling no matter what position you carry her in she will be cuddled right up against you. For a newborn this is great because it simulates being in the womb. You can make it so that the sling snuggles the baby in as close as you may need by folding any loose fabric over your shoulder.

* You can use a sling for a baby up to 25-30 lbs. Most slings are designed to fit mom almost like a pouch. This way the baby can grow and grow and still fit into the baby sling carrier.

* Slings are versatile to carry baby in many positions. You can carry a baby in five different positions using a sling carrier.

* There's no fussing with belts and buckles! Slings are made from one piece of fabric and sewn so that all you need do is hang it over one shoulder and under the opposite arm. Place your baby inside and your done. I started off with a fron carrier with my baby and it was a nighmare. I had to fiddle with so many straps and velcro that she would be screaming her head off by the time I got her into the contraption. I went through 2 more and had the same problem. My sling was the only solution!

A word of warning - Do not buy the adjustable kind of sling carrier you find that are sold in boxes at department stores. I tried this one too and it did not work! Everytime I tried to use it my baby would scream. She hated it! It is not sewn correctly so that your baby can sit in it comfortably.
